Corey Gauny is currently work for Wa. DOL as a Product Owner for driver’s license and ID card issuance system. He has worked on the Gender “X”, Motor Voter projects, conducting analysis for business driven IT solution. His desire to serve and passion for public service did not just start at DOL. For 22.5 years he served in the US Air Force as a Firefighter. He traveled and lived in and worked in over a dozen different countries. As a Firefighter he planned, managed fire and emergency services for a small city with an air field and industrial complex. He managed multiple different programs to include our operational budget and managed our live fire trainer project from concept through procurement and installation. After his military career, he completed his undergraduate studies in Business and Economics with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility at Pacific Lutheran University. He went on to purse his Masters in Business Management in the field of Innovation and Technology management. As he made his way through graduate school, he served as the Installation Environmental Management System Coordinator on Joint Base Lewis McChord, where he conducted fiscal analysis of the impact of improper Hazardous Material Management. Additionally, he was a member of the PLU graduate school team that went on to place second out of eleven graduate teams in a Merger and Acquisitions competition.
He continues his lifelong learning and is currently pursuing a Certified Agile Practitioner certification from PMI.
