Election Process and Timeline

PMI Olympia will start accepting candidate nominations for the open Board of Directors positions below in early 2024. 

  • Nominations Accepted: January and February 2024
  • Application Deadline: March 2024
  • Elections: April 2024
President Elect

Prepare for and plan to serve as President for the following year and act for the President as needed. The President Elect chairs the Nominating Committee. Term July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025, as President Elect; July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026, as President; and July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027, as Past President.

Vice President of Sponsors

The Vice President of Sponsorship shall be responsible for the growth, retention and management of sponsors on behalf of the Olympia Chapter.

Term July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.

Vice President of Professional Development

The Vice President of Professional Development shall be responsible for special programs to advance project management skills and knowledge and programs designed to prepare persons for Project Management certifications offered by PMI and project management education outreach programs.

Term July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.

Vice President of Youth and Social Impact

The Vice President of Youth and Social Impact shall be responsible for promoting project management, PMI, and the Olympia Chapter through outreach programs to academic institutions, professional associations, and local youth-serving / social nonprofit organizations.

Term July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.

Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance shall oversee the management of funds for duly authorized purposes of the Olympia Chapter.

Term July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.

Benefits of Serving

Serving as a Board Member is exciting, fun, and rewarding. It's a terrific way to become more involved in the Chapter, understand and work with PMI Global and meet and work with some amazing people.

Who Can Run?

Any PMI Olympia Chapter member in good standing can nominate themselves or be nominated by another member for an open position. Anyone elected to a Board of Directors position must maintain PMI Olympia Chapter membership throughout the term.

Board Member Responsibilities

Board members dedicate approximately 15 hours a month to Chapter activities, attend monthly board meetings and lead and manage their portfolio.
