Monthly Chapter Meeting (Virtual)
Join us for this month’s chapter meeting, “Making the Invisible Visible: Where Your Projects Actually Lose Time,” with Joel Bancroft-Connors from The Gorilla Coach.
Most project timelines hide a problem no Gantt chart shows: time spent waiting, cycling backward, or stuck in approvals no one has questioned in years. This session introduces the Three Devils, a framework built from Handoffs, Sign-offs, and Friction Points, for finding that hidden time loss using value stream mapping. No Agile background required. Anchored in a real case study where mapping revealed 65% of "development time" was work sitting still, participants leave able to identify friction in their own systems and build a data-driven case for changing it.
Speaker Bio:

Joel Bancroft-Connors is a Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Trainer, and Certified Team Coach. Before entering the agile world, he spent years in customer service, QA, product management, and project management, and he brings that full delivery lens to his work today. Known as the Gorilla Coach, he helps teams and organizations name the uncomfortable problem no one wants to talk about, the gorilla in the room, and clear the path from friction to flow. He builds practical tools for the same problems he teaches, including the Friction Audit assessment.
What You Will Learn:
Participants leave able to distinguish between outputs, outcomes, and value in their own project delivery; identify the Three Devils (Handoffs, Sign-offs, Friction Points) in their current work systems; apply value stream mapping to surface hidden wait time and rework loops; build a data-driven case for system-level change without needing executive approval to begin.
