Project Management before the Project: Managing the RFP Process What happens when a Project Manager oversees the RFP process? Depending on the size, scope, budget and visibility of the project it can be almost as extensive as managing the project itself. The groundwork laid during the procurement has enormous consequences for the project. Mr. Snyder will look at common tasks performed by the Project Manager in the role of RFP Coordinator. Topics will include: Justification, Requirements, Refining Requirements, Defining the RFP, Defining the Model Contract, engaging a Procurement Lawyer, Coordinating the Procurement process. Presentation Learning Outcomes or Objectives • Describe the RFP life cycle and map each stage in the cycle • Identify common resources for each stage • Understand the major tasks to successfully complete a procurement. • Identify information required by internal stakeholders to monitor the procurement process Speaker Name Jared Snyder Speaker Bio Mr. Snyder is a senior associate with Treinen Associates. He has over thirty years of experience in Information Technology in both the public and private sectors. He has previously served as the Vice President of Education for the Olympia PMI Chapter and has also previously presented to the Chapter. In addition to his career as a project manager, he is a music researcher whose work has been published in the Journal of Black Music Research, The Journal of American, and The Free Reed Journal amongst others. Mr. Snyder's spouse, Susan Ujcic is the co-owner and principal farmer for Helsing Junction Farm, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) business serving the greater Puget Sound region for the last 25 years.
