Managing change in a volunteer based organization (1 PDU, Strategic/Leadership) With Robert Coit. Talking points: Strategic Planning versus Strategic Plan Change culture Leadership styles and the no win situation Surveys, Lean Management, and GIS, oh my About Robert Robert Coit is the Executive Director of the Thurston County Food Bank. He has held that position for roughly ten years. For twenty years he has worked to end the negative impacts of hunger. He managed the Senior Nutrition Program for Mason and Thurston Counties, and left his position as the Deputy Director for Senior Services to lead the Food Bank. He is a past member of the Olympia Rotary, a past president of the Waterfront Kiwanis Club, a past Treasurer of South Sound Partners in Philanthropy, the Past Chair of the Washington Food Coalition, Past Chair of DSHS Portal Project Advisory Committee, Past Chair of WSDA Food Assistance Program Advisory Committee. He was honored by the Thurston Chamber of Commerce as a Distinguished Leader in 2016, and the Tom Halley Ending Hunger Award by Food Lifeline in 2013. He serves as a fire commissioner for Fire Protection District Five (Black Lake). Robert is a graduate of the University of Washington and the father if two children (Elizabeth 27 and Kyle 21). He collects Hungarian coins and loves to fly fish.
